[Problem] To provide a catalyst for producing hydrogen gas by steam reforming of hydrocarbon-containing gas in the presence of steam, the catalyst allowing a high degree of conversion to hydrogen gas, preventing ammonia gas generation and carbon deposition, having excellent long-term-reaction durability, and allowing a reduction in cost. [Solution] The above problem is solved by a steam reforming catalyst for a desulfurized hydrocarbon-containing gas, wherein, in the steam reforming catalyst, a modified carrier obtained by modifying 100 parts by weight of an α-alumina carrier with an active ancillary material containing 1-10 parts by weight, expressed as a metal-conversion amount, of cerium (Ce) supports an active metal containing 0.1-0.3 parts by weight, expressed as a metal-conversion amount, of rhodium (Rh) with respect to 100 parts by weight of the α-alumina carrier and 0.01-0.3 parts by weight, expressed as a metal-conversion amount, of platinum (Pt) with respect to 100 parts by weight of the α-alumina carrier. |
