PURPOSE:To avoid to generate over-cooling upon a low-load operation by a method wherein the inside of the main body of the heat exchanger is partitioned into a plurality of divided heat exchanging chambers and only the specified chamber among them is permitted to be operated. CONSTITUTION:Cooling medium enters from one or both of switching valves 101, 102 and receives heat from liquid to be cooled through heat transfer tubes 4, 5 after passing through one or both of divided paths b1, b2, then, is discharged out of outlet ports 121, 122 while the liquid to be cooled enters from one or both of the switching valves 81, 82, passes through one or both of the divided paths a1, a2 and transmits heat to cooling liquid. Upon the rated load operation, over- cooling will never be caused even if the switching valves 81, 82, 101, 102 are opened. When the load is decreased to a value less than 50%, either one group of the switching valves 81, 101 or the same 82, 102 is closed and the cooling medium may be supplied to one of the divided heat exchanging chambers (11 or 12) to cool and the area of the path for the liquid to be cooled becomes about one half, therefore, the over-cooling may be prevented. |
