DEVICE FOR SEALING A PLASTIC PIPE EXTENDING THROUGH A PARTITION

Arrangement seals off a plastic pipe passing through a wall in the event of a fire has a metal component with a flange for fixing to the wall and a tubular part standing out from the wall through which the plastic pipe passes; it has also one end which is radial to the plastic pipe and tubular part contains a layer of intumescent material. A pre-stretched tension spring is placed round the plastic pipe and near the sleeve; the pipe has also a wrapping of flat thermally insulating, plastic, and fire-resistant material; this material extends into the tubular part of the sleeve and beneath the intumescent layer but covering the spring; this spring is embedded in and/or bonded to the wrapping which is a fabric or met of glass or borosilicate fibres.
