The method of producing the closed box element, formed by the union of at least two subelements of plastic or composite material, which define at least one closed internal cavity, comprises the operations of: stamping the two subelements; depositing a layer of cross-linkable adhesive in the zones of the two subelements which are to be brought into mutual contact; assembling the two subelements according to the configuration provided by the closed box element; and subjecting the layer of adhesive to a thermal load and a mechanical compressive stress, so as to bring about the cross-linking of the adhesive and the stable assembly of the two subelements. The assembling of the two subelements and the cross- linking of the adhesive take place in a hermetic space at pressure below atmospheric, so that the internal cavity of the closed box element is in a partial vacuum. |
