The bailing press horizontal compression duct (1) is open at the end facing the direction of travel.. A piston (2) is moved reciprocally in the duct by a crankshaft (3). A supply duct (4) extends from an opening (6) in the compression duct to a collecting mechanism (5). A rotary drum conveyor (8) with radial tines is mounted above the supply duct (4), with tines (9) passing through the duct so that the hay and straw is pushed into the compression duct. The drum conveyor is mounted on the crankshaft, which actuates the baling piston.
