Battery terminal and switching device for mine locomotive - has counter-contacts of multipole battery plug connector in protective coupling casing

The locomotive batteries are explosion protected, not using a manual master switch. The countercontacts (3) of a multi-pole battery plug connector (2) on an exchange battery (1) are secured at a connecting box (4) with increased protection. The box, in turn, is secured to a pressure-tight encapsulated housing (5). Thus the poles of the battery plug connector contains corresponding number of very short and well protected coupling lines (6), connectable via bushings (7) directly to the terminals of a relay (8) in the pressure-tight housing for separating the consumer appliances. The relay action is monitored by an electronic control (10). USE/ADVANTAGE - For battery driven mine locomotives, with increased safety in simple arrangement.
