PURPOSE:To regenerate a catalyst with a high efficiency and obtain the subject compound in an overall extremely low cost by reacting a conjugated diene with an organic carboxylic acid and oxygen using a catalyst containing Pd, V, Sb and a component capable of insolubilizing the V as essential components and further an activity promoting component supporting thereon. CONSTITUTION:A mixed gas containing a conjugated diene, an organic carboxylic acid and oxygen is reacted in the vapor phase by a flow method. In the process, a catalyst containing (A) Pd, (B) V, (c) Sb and (d) at least one of Fe, Ba Sn, Pb, Al and La as essential components supported on a carrier, an alkali metal carboxylate, etc., as an activity promoting component supported thereon and at least part of the V insolubilized with the component (D) is used. The aforementioned catalyst is regenerated to a state with a sufficiently high activity and long use-life by removing the activity promoting component with water and/or an alcohol containing at least one element of the component (D), then carrying out oxidation treatment, reduction treatment and subsequently supporting the activity promoting component. High regeneration effects are also obtained even by performing repeated regeneration treatment. |
