The invention relates to a front wishbone attachment comprising two separate ball joints, located at the left and right front ends of the tube of the wishbone and gripping the mast. The assembly may be mounted on the mast by moving the arms of the wishbone apart. It enables the plane of the sails to be kept orthogonal to the plane of the wishbone irrespective of the position of the sheet point of the sail and the height of the wishbone on the mast. It may be fitted with shock absorbers (dampers). <IMAGE>
