The positivee displacement pump has several rotating chambers (A,B,C,D) or stationary chambers relative to the housing, which have periodically changing volumes and are closed off from each other. The discharge or suction volume can be adjusted per revolution, as the control ports (6,18,25,25) opening into or closing off from the low or high pressure sources have a primary adjustment mechanism. The control ports (18,25) opening or closing each chamber to the high pressure source, and the ports (26) opening/closing the low pressure source provide secondary adjustment and are dependent on the primary adjustment. The fluid flow to and from the chambers is controlled by check or pressure valves.
