PURPOSE:To enhance the non-linearity, impulse current characteristic and the charge life characteristics in a large current region by a method wherein specific amount of Mo compound in the form of MoO2 is contained in a composition mainly composed of zinc oxide. CONSTITUTION:In order to manufacture the title non-linear voltage resistor, a composition containing the components as follows is sintered i.e., zinc oxide as the main component as well as bismuth, antimony, cobalt, manganese, chrome, nickel, silicon and aluminum compound as the sub-components respectively in the forms of Bi2O3, Sb2O3, CoO, MnO, Cr2O3, NiO, SiO2 and Al2O3 at the ratios of 0.05-2.0mol%, 0.05-3mol%, 0.1-2.0mol%, 1-3.0mol%, 0.05-2.0mol%, 0.05-2.0mol%, 0.05-3.0mol% and 0.001-0.5mol% furthermore, molybdenum compound in the form of MoO2 and in the ratio of 0.02-3.0mol%. |
