PURPOSE:To obtain the title compsn. giving a foam having an excellent resistance to heat and chemicals and a homogeneous closed-cell structure by compounding a polymer obtd. by the ring-opening polymn. of a specific cyclic olefin or the copolymn. of the olefin with ethylene with a chemical blowing agent and a polycarboxylic acid. CONSTITUTION:A polymer selected from the group consisting of a (co)polymer obtd. by the ring-opening polymn. of a cyclic olefin of formula I (wherein n is 0 or 1; m is 0 or a positive integer; R<1> to R<18> are each H, halogen, or a hydrocarbon group provided that R<15> to R<18> may conbine with each other to form a mono- or polycyclic ring, and R<15> and R<16> or R<17> and R<18> are combined to form an alkylidene group) or formula II (wherein l is 0 or a positive integer; m and n are each 0, 1, or 2; R<1> to R<15> are each H, halogen, an aliph. or arom. hydrocarbon group, or alkoxy; and R<5> (or R<6>) may combine with R<9> (or R<7>) directly or through a 1-3C alkylene group), a hydrogenation product thereof, and a copolymer of the cyclic olefin of formula I or II with ethylene is compounded with a chemical blowing agent and a plycarboxylic acid (deriv.) to give the title compsn. |
