The invention concerns an obturator for sound holes of wind instruments that includes an obturation unit, integrated to an end of a swivelling bar, the other end being connected to the exterior of the instrument.In accordance with this invention, the device eliminates some major problems. In order to improve sound and reduce wear, the obturation unit includes a cylindrical obturation body that has a ring-shaped protuberance on the bottom, which cooperates with a ring-shaped flexible plastic body, located in an annular slot. The slot is concentric with a resonance hole on the outside of the instrument body.The device applies to musical instruments.
