Flame retardant polyurethane foams, esp. soft foams, based on polyetherpolyols, are made with a content of 2-50, esp. 5-15 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. polyol of at least one halogenated phosphonophosphoric acid ester of formula (I) in which X = halogen, R1 = 1-4C alkylene, A is =C=C(R3)2 or =C(R4)-C(R3)3, R3 (same or different) = 1-4C alkyl, H or halogen and R4 = H or halogen.
