Air or a medical gas passes through a cylindrical heating assembly and a humidifying chamber before being supplied to the patient. The heating cylinder has a resistive self-regulating element over which the air or gas passes before flowing through a tube and humidifying chamber. Sterile water flows through a manual stopcock and an e.m. operated valve before being distributed to the fibrous or granular filling of the chamber by a hollow needle. - A programming device, which can be controlled remotely via a cable, determines when the valve is opened and shut. The programming device and the heater are fed with power from the same source.(0/3)
