PURPOSE:To improve wearing resistance and durability by covering a ferromagnetic metal thin film with an amine salt compd. of perfluoropolyether having carboxyl group at its molecular end. CONSTITUTION:A ferromagnetic metal thin film formed on a nonmagnetic supporting body is covered with an amine salt compd. of perfluoropolyether having carboxyl group at its molecular end. This layer is formed by dissolving a lubricant in a solvent such as fleon, toluene, isooctane, hexane, etc., and then applying the solution on the ferromagnetic thin film by coating or spraying, or otherwise, by dipping the ferromagnetic thin film in this solution and then drying. The amt. of the lubricant to be applied is preferably 1-20 mg/m<2>. By this method, traveling property, wearing resistance and durability of the medium can be improved. |
