Described is a fuel injection device, in particular a pump injector, for internal combustion engines, in which the start and end of fuel delivery is controlled by a solenoid valve (2) fitted between a low-pressure line and the working space (10) of the pump piston (1). The device has a flush bore (6) in a flush line (7) which can be connected to the working space (10), the flush line being connected to a low-pressure space and the fuel tank. A feed line (3) supplying fuel from the solenoid valve (2) to the working space (10) of the piston (1) opens out directly in the pump working space (10), the connection to this space remaining permanently open. The design is such that the mouth of the flush bore (6) is in the zone of the pump cylinder (4) which is swept by the pump piston (1) in all positions of the piston, and the mouth of the flush bore can be connected in the region of the top dead centre of the piston (1) via a recess, in particular an annular groove (8), in the piston (1) at least directly with the feed line (3) and the working space (10) of the piston (1). |
