PURPOSE:To miniaturize the device and to improve the reliability by using a semiconductor optical modulator as a time division optical demultiplex element of a time division optical demultiplex circuit for an optical data signal. CONSTITUTION:An optical signal 5 is inputted to an optical modulator 1 whose optical absorbing rate varies with application of a voltage and converting the absorbed light into a current. An optical signal 6 whose data transmission speed is 100Gb/s outputted through the modulator 1 is inputted to a photodetector 2 using a PIN photodiode. A 10Gb/s of clock signal voltage is fed to the modulator 1 from a clock voltage generator 7 and the phase of the voltage is adjusted by a phase shifter 8. Resistors RL1, RL2 converting a current waveform into a relevant voltage are connected to the modulator 1 and the detector 2 and broadband amplifiers 3, 4 are connected to a proper voltage amplitude. The phase of the clock signal voltage fed to the modulator 1 is adjusted to an optimum value by the phase shifter 8 to apply 2-series time division optical demultiplex to the optical signal 5 whose data transmission speed is 200Gb/s and whose wavelength is 1.55mum, a data demultiplex signal of 10Gb/s without a code error is obtained from amplifiers 3, 5. |
