The railway line supporting formation is made of concrete and is completely sealed on its upper surface and has raised ribs (5a) which carry the rails (6a). The formation or trough is used specifically where chemicals are loaded into tanker wagons. The concrete trough and ribs (5a) are completely lined with sheet stainless steel (200) welded on the top surfaces in seams (207) parallel to the rib (5a). Stainless steel plates are concreted in the top surface of the rib (5a) and a groove (204) is formed in each side. The lining (200) overlaps this plate and is welded to it, thus forming a channel to conduct inert gas for testing the seal of the welded seams. USE/ADVANTAGE - Better protection against corrosion. The capacity of the bath is equal to one tanker load.
