A turning arrangement 10 for pieces of timber B and the like comprises at least one turner 11 designed for continuous rotation in operation and having a plurality of graB FIngers 11d between which there are take-up openings 11e for individual pieces of timber fed in on a transverse conveyor 12a. In order alternatively to allow a piece of timber to pass through the turning arrangement without turning, a lifting member 13 is provided which can be raised or lowered as required, at least with its counter-flow part 13', and which in the raised condition, in the adjacent take-up opening, lifts that part of the piece of timber which otherwise rests on the base 11e' of the take-up opening. During the movement this piece of timber is thereby prevented from being overturned downwards, that is to say being turned. <IMAGE> |
