Mechanical door check

Herein disclosed is a continuous speed change type door check for closing a door, which comprises: a pivot pin (3) rotated in conjunction with the opening and closing a door; a slider (4) moved in conjunction with the rotation of the pivot pin; a helical coil spring (10) for urging the slider to rotate the pivot pin in such a direction as to close the door; a speed increase gear train for speeding up the rotation of the pivot pin; a brake (40) for applying a braking force to the pivot pin; a one-way clutch (18) provided in the gear train; and a pair of incompletely circular gears (11,15) for continuously changing a speed ratio between the gears.
