PURPOSE:To verify the polarized condition of a crystaline ingot by measuring the polarized state of the entire crystaline ingot without breaking the crystaline ingot itself in comparison with a sound velocity value proper to material under review with a velocity value of a ultrasonic wave traveling through the crystal ingot. CONSTITUTION:After transmitted from a quartz vibrator 4, an ultrasonic wave is reflected on the end 3 facing a sample 1, attenuated in the velocity thereof while reciprocating between the ends 2 and 3 and then, received with the quartz vibrator 4. At this point, the time from transmitting to receiving the ultrasonic waves in measured with a velocity measuring device 5. The velocity of the ultrasonic wave is measured at several points to learn the velocity thereof in the Z- axis direction within the sample. After the polarization treatment, if it is confirmed that the velocity in the Z-axis direction differs from that in the same direction before the polarization treatment while the velocity of the ultrasonic wave traveling through the sample 1 being measured is constant irrelevant to measuring positions in the end 2, the sample 1 can be determined to be entirely polarized as a single unit. |
