PURPOSE:To simplify the hardware structure of a work station by forming a data base in such a constitution where the pictures which are outputted to a work station from the data base are all set in a reversible compression state in a certain state except in an emergency. CONSTITUTION:At a data base 2, the pictures equivalent to the inactive data stored in a 2nd storage means 7 are read out with a request given from a work station 3 in a certain state except in an emergency. Under such conditions, the reversibly compressed picture are stored in a 3rd storage means 9 as they are among those pictures equivalent to the inactive data with the irreversibly compressed pictures stored in the means 9 after the reversible expansion and the reversible compression. Meanwhile the pictures which are outputted to the station 3 from the base 2 in a state except in an emergency are turned into the reversibly compressed pictures stored in a 1st storage means 6 and also stored once in the means owing to a fact that the means 6 stores the reversibly compressed pictures equivalent to the active data. Thus it is possible to simplify the hardware structure which expands the pictures held at the station 3. |
