An ink duct on a printing machine has a roller ('Duktor -R.T.N.), a base inclined towards the roller, two sidewalls forming the inking chamber, and a coat regulator in the form of individually adjustable doctor blades acting on the roller. The inking chamber has at least one ink divider which is a triangular plate of flexible plastic material, set parallel to the side walls; the bottom edge of this divider lies flat on the base of the duct; its leading edge is curved with the same radius as the roller and it rests against the roller whilst its top edge is horizontal. The preferred plastic material is 'Ureol' (R.T.N.). ADVANTAGE - The layout makes it possible to print in more than one colour with the one ink duct i.e. iridescent printing can be done.
