PURPOSE:To obtain a thermally transferable material which has a satisfactory shelf life and provides high image density with high thermal sensitivity by creating a thermally sensitive layer which contains a coloring component in a microcapsule and a sensitizer component containing alkylphenol on a support. CONSTITUTION:A thermally sensitive layer is provided on a support. Said layer consists of a substantially colorless coloring component A contained in a microcapsule and a sensitizer component B containing an emulsified dispersion product obtained by emulsifying it in an aqueous solution after being dissolved in a solvent which is solution-retardative or insoluble in water with alkylphenol. Alkylphenol is a substance which enhances coloring density during thermal printing or lowers the minimum level of coloring density. The oil obtained by dissolving an emulsified dispersion product such as a coupling component, a basic substance, alkylphenol and a developer in a solvent which is solution- retardative or insoluble in water, and the water containing protective colloid and surfactant are mixed and dispersed using any device used for routine fine particle emulsification such as high-speed stirring or ultrasound dispersion. Thus a thermally sensitive recording material can be obtained easily. |
