The method uses a nonwoven metal screen (1), the openings of which are temporarily blocked off by a first metal. A second metal (4) is deposited on the screen and its openings blocked off. The second metal is selectively etched; next, the first metal is dissolved, and a metal screen-printing plate of high definition is thus obtained which is particularly intended for long industrial printing runs. The screen-mask assembly may be reinforced by electroplating (6). <IMAGE>
