A CPU (17) operates on signals from detectors of driven and idling wheel speeds, (1,2) engine speed (3), gear ratio (5), inlet manifold and atmos. pressures (7,14), engine coolant temp. (15) and throttle opening (16). Its control program and tables are stored in a ROM (18). Commands are addressed to an ignition timing controller (13) connected to the sparking plugs (12), a stepping motor (8) which adjusts the position of the throttle flap (9), and an interrupter (10) which holds the fuel injection valve (11) in its closed position when necessary.
