The compensator is for preventing the bursting, cracking or damaging of pipes or pipe and pressure vessel circuits by fluctuations in the temperature, volume or pressure of the medium flowing in the pipes. The method consists of inserting air or gas compression diaphragms into the pipes or pressure vessel so that the reduction in volume of the compression diaphragm is equal to the increase in volume of the medium flowing in the pipes. These compression diaphragms are so designed that the surrounding medium does not penetrate into the diaphragms. The compression diaphragms are joined together to form one large functional unit which does not impede the flow of the medium through the pipes. USE - Prevention of damage to pipes.
