PURPOSE:To control the quantity of exposure extremely finely by dividing a specific area in a subject field finely, to measure light, and calculating the brightness of a main subject, and calculating the proper exposure value of the entire screen plane from the found brightness and the photometric output of a photometric element for calculating exposure value. CONSTITUTION:A subject discriminating means 103 discriminates the area wherein the main subject is present with a photometric output from a small area of a 2nd photometic means 102 which is divided relatively finely and a brightness arithmetic means 104 finds the brightness of the main subject from the photometric output of the area. Then an exposure arithmetic means 15 calculates an exposure value for exposing the entire screen plane by a proper quantity by using the brightness of the main subject and the photometric output from an area of a 1st photometric means 101 which is divided relatively large. Consequently, the quantity of exposure can be controlled extremely finely. |
