A carpet washing machine comprises a frame 1. Inside the frame 1 rollers 2 are arranged for supporting and transporting carpets 3. Inside the frame 1 a mobile unit 4 is arranged for distributing cleaning fluid and detergent. The distributing unit 4 is mounted so that it can move along the rollers 2 and is mounted for spraying out cleaning fluid and detergent against the surface of the carpet 3. Hoses 5, 6 for nozzles 12 are connected to the distributing unit 4. The opposite ends of the hoses are connected to a moveable mounted transport arrangement 7, which is located outside the frame 1. The distributing unit 4, the hoses 5, 6 and the transport arrangement 7 form a closed loop. In operation of the machine the transport arrangement and the distributing unit are moved simultaneously. <IMAGE>
