PURPOSE: To automatically determine the resonance frequency of an ultrasonic converter by amplifying an electric signal vibrated at a desired ultrasonic frequency, applying it to the ultrasonic converter, comparing the power consumption of the amplified signal with the power consumption of a desired level to automatically regulate the power level of the amplified signal. CONSTITUTION: A processor 12 transmits various frequency command signals to a VCO section 134, each of these commands are converted into a voltage lever showing a desired frequency, respectively. A sine wave signal VU is outputted by the VCO section 134, amplified by an amplifier section 136, and applied to a lens hand piece 20 through a converter section 142. A power monitor 138 samples the voltage applied to a converter/bougie and the current returned from the converter section 142, the power is calculated from the sampling in a power monitoring section 138, an analog voltage signal MP having an amplitude corresponding to the monitored power level is generated and outputted. It is transmitted to a MPU 122 as the value of the analog voltage MP or the power A/D converted and consumed by a bougie 20. |
