PURPOSE:To recover gas residing in a device rapidly by setting an evaporated liquid portion recovery device which recovers the evaporated ink portion in a gaseous phase during a thermally fixing process. CONSTITUTION:If a recording medium 8 on which liquid ink is splashed freshly passes over a thermally fixing device 10, the low boiling point component of the liquid ink on a recording medium 8 evaporates rapidly and resides in a recording device 11 and then in turn, is released to an area outside the recording device 11. A gas adsorption sheet 13 is arranged as a device to recover an evaporated liquid portion containing a large amount of a solid component which has a strong gas adsorption action, on the upper position of the thermally fixing device 10 on the internal wall 12 of an enclosure 12. A gas evaporated from above the recording medium 8 is adsorbed by the gas adsorptive sheet 15, thus preventing the gas from being released to an area outside the recording device 11. In addition, a silica gel is used for moisture adsorption as an example of an adsorber, and an activated charcoal is used as a preferable adsorber of an organic volatile component. |
