Ultrasonic dryer for wire manufacture - uses jig in form of electrically driven transducer, to accelerate wire at high frequency and detach fluid droplets

Wire material (1) at a post-cleansing stage still retains some fluid droplets (5). It is dried by passing it between guides (6) attached to an ultrasonic transducer base (2) and energised by an electrical oscillator (3). Excitation of the wire under high frequency acceleration effectively detaches the droplets leaving the wire dry as it passes on. USE/ADVANTAGE - Where fluid droplet adherance through surface tension leads to contamination at further stages. Compact and economical in energy compared with other methods.
