Triplex or multiplex panels are manufactured of e.g. non-fibrous very thin, e.g. alderwood, which may be impregnated with a coloured dye. Panels consist of several layers of very thin shavings of wood. Panel manufacture includes pressing together several alternate layers of wood and e.g. glue or reson which are heated during the pressing process.
