The valve uses a spring-biased magnetic armature (18) formed with a valve closure (40) cooperating with a conical face (42) of a fixed guide (16) relative to which the armature is displaced. The armature has a shoulder (44) acted on by the hydraulic fluid for moving the valve into the open position into which the valve is biased via a spring (22). Pref., the valve closure is provided by an annular shoulder of the armature pressed into contact with the conical surface when the valve is closed by energising the magnetic coil (28).
