PURPOSE: To obtain a useful material as a versatile chemical and biological means by forming a reactive intermediate product polymer particle and forming a covalent bond between the reactive intermediate product and reactive amine or a compound containing sulfhydryl. CONSTITUTION: In the first process, the water-based suspension liquid of polymer particle with pendant carboxyl group on the particle surface is brought into contact with a dicationether, thus forming a reactive intermediate product polymer particle with pendant intermediate reactive group. Then, as the second process, the polymer particle formed in the first process is brought into contact with a reactive amine or a compound containing sulfhhydryl, thus forming a covalent bond. In this manner, inactive polypeptide or reactive amine such as protein or a compound containing sulfhydryl are adhered to an inactive polymer particle rapidly, thus forming a material that is useful for a biological and chemical means such as immunoassay, diagnosis test, and enzyme reaction. |
