The arrangement contains a symmetrical difference measurement arrangement with two vessels, one contg. the specimen and the other serving as a reference. Vol. differences are compensated for, taking account of the vol. of specimen inaccessible to the gas, using a calibration device. The rate of an exchange of material is recorded by measuring the changes in press., mole fraction or temp. of the gas or specimen with devices for determining the difference measurement value.
