摘要 PURPOSE: To lessen the effect of a magnetic field upon the path of an electron beam by providing a means for supplying a potential difference for a first and second electrode having a deflection space, and by optimizing an emission means in such a manner as to introduce the electron beam into the deflection space at an acute angle with respect to a parallel electrode. CONSTITUTION: A deflection space 27 is provided between a color-selecting electrode 28 and a flat electrode 29, and an electric field E is applied to the deflection space 27 by the action of a potential difference between the color- selecting electrode 28 and the flat electrode 29. Then, electron beams 24, 25 and 26 are incident on the inside of the deflection space 27 at certain angleαwith the color-selecting electrode 28. These electron beams 24, 25 and 26 trace parabolic paths in the deflection space 27, and are incident on a display screen 30 after passing through the deflection space 27. This virtually reduces the influence of a magnetic field upon the paths of the electron beams, and in some cases, the electron beams travel into the deflection space 27, following the parabolic paths, and thus easily enabling compensation.
