A liquid crystal composition comprising a liquid crystal compound and at least one cyclic ether compound such as crown ether, azacrown, silacrown, cryptand, etc., and a liquid crystal element comprising said composition sandwiched in between two base plates at least one of which is provided with a transparent electrode. The invention is directed to providing a liquid crystal element undergoing less electrostatic hazards and a stable liquid crystal composition having a low resistivity for substantiating such an element.
