PURPOSE:To provide an aiming mechanism free from gear backlash and capable of accurately transmitting the rotation of an operation rod by axially supporting the boss of each gear by means of a bearing hole formed in a gear case and supporting both shoulder portions of each gear by means of annular projections. CONSTITUTION:When a rod 66 of an aiming mechanism 49 is rotated by a tool 99 such as a screwdriver engaged with a groove 67 of an operation rod 66, the rotation is transmitted via a drive gear 60, an intermediate gear 62, and a transmitting gear 61 to an aiming screw 75 to cause a self-locking nut 78 move back and forth along the screw 75. As a result, a reflector 28 or a lamp unit 17 is swung up and down about a pivot O1 as shown with the dash and double dotted line so that vertical aiming angle is adjusted. Bosses 65, 73 and 88 of gears 60-62 and both shoulder portions of each gear are respectively supported with bearing holes 70, 80 and 89, and annular projections 90-92 of a gear case 57, axial play of each of the gears 60-62 is securely eliminated to accurately transmit the rotation of the rod 66 and to accurately adjust the beam axis. |
