PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material having excellent thermal response and high coloring sensitivity by containing a specific compound. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material normally including a colorless or light-colored dye precursor and an electron acceptable compound (a developer) reacting with the precursor on heating and color-developing said dye precursor, a compound shown by formula I is contained. In formula I, X represents an oxygen or sulfur atom. Y forms a not less than 2C alkylene chain, and may also has the side chain of an alkyl group. Accordingly, the thermal recording material, which has excellent thermal response and high coloring sensitivity and through which high optical density is acquired by the same applied energy, can be obtained. |
