<p>PURPOSE:To reduce an error due to variance in the constant of the cable by correcting the calculation of input admittance according to the measurement result of the input admittance of a normal conductor at the periphery of a faulty conduction and reduce an error in the distance to a fault point. CONSTITUTION:A measuring instrument 3 is connected to the good conductor 5 to measure the input admittance and its data is stored in a memory 10. The cable constitution of the good conductor 5 is read out of a data base 7 and an arithmetic means 9 calculates the input admittance in the state. Then the input impedance of the faulty conductor 1 is measured and stored in a memory 16. The cable constitution of the faulty conductor 1, on the other hand, is read out of the data base 7 and an arithmetic means 14 calculates its input admittance. A comparing means 17 compares the measured values of the arithmetic means 15 and memory 16 with each other and moves a fault point position until they become equal to each other or the difference between the both is minimized, and the obtained result is displayed on a display part 20 to determine the distance to the fault point.</p> |
