PURPOSE:To obtain good combustion behavior of fine particles, moderate increase of pressure loss, and cause re-combustion quickly by dispersedly carrying a tungstate, a molybdate, and a platinum-group metal on a porous inorganic substrate. CONSTITUTION:Tungstates of lithium, sodium, etc., together with metals and/or oxide of platinum-group elements such as platinum, rhodium, palladium, etc., and also with barium molybdate and/or lanthanum molybdate are dispersedly carried on a porous inorganic substrate. The resulting substrate is then heated at a temperature range of 700-1000 deg.C. A catalyst prepared in this way has good combustion behavior of fine particles at a temperature range of Diesel engine exhaust gases and moderated increase of pressure loss and causes re- combustion quickly when temperature reaches a prescribed exhaust gas temperature. |
