PRODUCTION OF 2,3',4,5'-TETRAHYDROXYSTILBENE

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound having skin-beautifying action and useful as an active component of a skin-beautifying external drug such as face lotion and pack at a low cost by extracting root sheath of mulberry with a water-containing hydrophilic organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound can be produced by extracting root sheath of mulberry with a water-containing hydrophilic organic solvent. Concretely, the root sheath of mulberry is crushed and cut into small pieces and extracted with a mixture of water and a hydrophilic organic solvent such as methanol. The ratio of the organic solvent in the extraction solvent is >=50%, preferably about 70-95%. About 5-15 pts. of the extraction solvent is added to 1 pt. of the root sheath and heated under refluxing or left to rest at normal temperature or under heating. The solvent is distilled off from the obtained extracted liquid and the residue is dissolved in about 10-100 times volume of water. The solution is passed through a column packed with a synthetic polymer adsorbent having a macro-network structure to obtain the objective compound.
