Roving feed - has flask to contain flyer bobbin with feed slit to prevent dust passing from bobbin to spinner

To deliver a roving (5) to a spinner, the flyer bobbin is placed in a take-off flask (2) which has a take-off slit (4) parallel to the axis of the flyer bobbin. Pref. the roving take-off slit (4) is displaced to one side of the axis of the flyer bobbin (1), with two round rods (7,8) flanking the slit (4) as a roving guide. The flyer bobbin (1) is on a swing suspension within the flast (2), with a release mounting with a ratchet or index lever coupled and keyed to the flyer bobbin (1). The flast (2) has couplings, at least at one end, to be engaged by transport and/or centering system. A brake within the flask (2) restrains bobbin (1) rotation while the roving (5) is taken off, through a spring clamping clip which extends from the inner side of the flask (2) to bear against the bobbin (1) surface. ADVANTAGE - The system gives a smooth transfer to the roving between the bobbin and the spinner, and prevents dust dispersing from the bobbin to the spinning zone.
