PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in an image by controlling the displacement of an electrifying means with respect to a photosensitive body based on the detected overall surface potential in the coaxial direction of the photosensitive body and displaying an electrifying condition if the automatic control for the electrifying means does not ensure the uniform electrification of the photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with an operation display part 107 which receives a control signal from a control part 101 and display a variety of information, a potential sensor 108 measuring the surface potential of a photosensitive belt, an electrifying part sensor 110 detecting the position of an electrifying charger 118, a potential sensor moving motor 114 moving the potential sensor 108 according to the control signal from the control part 101, etc. The entire surface potential in the axial direction of the photosensitive body is detected, and according to the detected value, the electrifying means 118 is controlled to be displaced with respect to the photosensitive body. If the automatic control for the electrifying means 118 does not ensure the uniform electrification of the photosensitive body, its electrifying condition is displayed. Thus, image deterioration from the potential irregularity of the photosensitive body surface can be prevented. |
