PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent high frequency characteristic of a connector for coaxial cable by exerting spring force by means of a spring split sleeve from the outer periphery of a split taper sleeve attached to an external conductor so as to obtain excellent connection strength, and installing a contact for the external conductor. CONSTITUTION:A split taper sleeve 22 is mounted to the end of an external conductor 3 which end is stripped stepwise and exposed, and the faces of a spring split sleeve 21 are fitted with each other and the diameter of the sleeve 22 is reduced by the strong elastic force of the sleeve 21 so that the conductor 3 and the sleeve 22 are mechanically and electrically pressed against each other; simultaneously, a contact 24 for the external conductor is fitted with and in contact with the flange 22b of the sleeve 22 and a center contact 6 is forcibly attached to the end of an inside conductor 5, and an insulator 12 is fitted with the conductor 5 and an inner shell and an insulator 13 are mounted, and a metal fitting 8 is threaded into a hole, and then the sleeve 21 presses the sleeve 22 due to a taper face and the contact 24 for the external conductor is pressed to the shell 7 by the flange 22b. This constitution allows a current to flow from the inner face of the external conductor 3 directly through the shell 7 and minimizes noise interference caused by external ratio wave; thus an electrically stable cable connector is obtained.
