Measuring pin length of optical connector - using dial gauge with movable pin, hollow body, and tread for connection to light conductor

The pin length of an optical light guide connector is measured using a dial gauge (6) with a movable pin (14) and guide tube. A hollow body (17) mounted on the guide tube has a bore whose dia. corresp. to that of the measurement plug pin and whose length is less than that of the plug pin. The hollow body has an external thread (21) onto which the light guide's connector can be screwed. USE/ADVANTAGE - For use in optical communications systems for simple measurement of the length of a connector pin in an optical connector using a simple arrangement.
