PURPOSE:To purify the extract solution of stevia, obtained by extracting the sweetening material from the leaf of Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni with water, hot water, or hydrous alcohol, by adding calcium orthophosphate to the solution, and removing the impurities as precipitates. CONSTITUTION:The sweetening material is extracted from the leaf of Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni with water, hot water or hydrous alcohol. Calcium orthophosphate is added to the extract solution or its concentrate under slow stirring to form brown or dark brown precipitate, stirred for 30min, left to stand for a while, and subjected to the suction filtration. The amount of the calcium salt is 20-100wt% of the solid content of the extract. |
