Uniform lead connectors for strip leads are produced by movingg a blade set (10) past a clad substrate material, which is fixed in a holder (11), such that part of the substrate material (30) is removed while the associated metal cladding (31, 32) remains. Pref. the substrate material (30) consists of Teflon, glass-reinforced plastics or similar material. USE/ADVANTAGE - For forming soldering tabs for hybrid circuit substrates. Uniform, low reflection connectors are produced inexpensively and rapidly without deleterious mechanical thickening of prior art lead overlapping.
