A device for obtaining focused shock waves comprises a pulsed laser (1), a cell (2) with a medium transparent to the laser radiation and a means (3) for focusing the laser radiation and spherical shock waves provided with a surface for focusing the shock waves. The means (3) for focusing the laser radiation and the spherical shock waves consists of a concave-convex lens made of a material transparent to the laser radiation and having surfaces (4, 5) with different curvature values, the surface (4) for focusing the shock waves being made concave. In one of the variants the concave surface (4) faces the laser (1), whereas the convex surface (5) is provided with a coating reflecting the laser radiation. In another embodiment it is the convex surface (5) that faces the laser (1).
